The Starting Point
The path that brought me here was built on ups and downs. Each branch of this tree is a chapter of that evolution, and the story it tells is still being written.
$ git init
I grew up in Nonoai, a small town in the north of Rio Grande do Sul, right by the border with Santa Catarina. That's where, at 12 or 13, I first got my hands on a computer: my dad's old work laptop, which weighed a ton.
I used it to play games. I had friends in town, but honestly I preferred my Skype friends, spending hours building worlds with them in Minecraft. Without knowing it, that was my first commit.
$ git checkout -b feature/passo-fundo
I moved to Passo Fundo to attend high school at UPF's Integrado. A whole new world opened up: the city felt about 50 times bigger than my hometown.
By the end of high school I didn't really know what to do. I ended up choosing Computer Science because that's what my friends were doing. Not every good decision starts with a grand plan.
$ git checkout -b feature/computer-science
In 2019 I started my bachelor's at IFSUL in Passo Fundo. The program was hard, and the road didn't help: along the way came a strike and a pandemic, with classes moving online.
There were semesters when I was sure I'd never graduate.
$ git checkout -b internship/splora-upf
My first internship was at Splora, at UPF. I had classes at IFSUL in the morning and the internship in the afternoon. I only had two bus tickets a day: one to get to IFSUL and one to get from UPF back downtown, where I lived.
So in between I walked about 3 km under the noon sun, with around 30 minutes for lunch. There I built a chatbot integrated with Amazon Alexa using Node.js and React, and helped choose between Flutter and React Native for the company's mobile strategy.
$ git stash
Not every commit is about moving forward. I was failing almost everything, I was very sad and couldn't keep going. So I put college on hold.
It was a git stash: I saved everything I had built so far, deleting nothing, to come back when I was ready.
$ git stash pop
When I came back, everything changed. I made friends who made the program lighter and, little by little, college became something else. In the final semesters, I aced every single course.
Sometimes the same code, in a different context, finally compiles.
$ git checkout -b job/nstech
At NSTECH I started as an intern and left as a back-end developer, working with PHP, Laravel, jQuery and PostgreSQL, from the database all the way to the screen.
It's also where I started teaching: reviewing the team's tasks and helping train newcomers. Explaining code to someone is the best way to truly understand it.
$ git checkout -b job/compass-uol
At Compass UOL I had my first fully remote job, building full stack applications with React and Node.js in agile teams, between dailies, plannings and code reviews.
Along the way, I earned the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
$ git checkout -b job/embrapa-trigo
At Embrapa Trigo I found a very real problem: AgroExperiment only worked online, so technicians wrote pest data on paper sheets in the field and typed everything into the system later.
I built the app's offline mode with IndexedDB and Dexie.js, syncing automatically with PostgreSQL as soon as the connection comes back. The work became research and was presented at IFSUL's 18th Scientific and Technological Initiation Conference.

$ git checkout -b research/nodejs-benchmark
After years building APIs with the same technologies, I wanted to go beyond the community's guesses. With the evolution of Route Handlers in Next.js 14, I put it head to head with Express, Fastify and Nest.js.
Using k6, I put all four through load and stress scenarios from 100 to 500 virtual users, like a crowd opening 200 tabs to buy concert tickets. The study became my first published paper.

$ git tag v1.0.0-bachelor
The student who thought he'd never graduate did graduate, with two published papers and huge gratitude to my advisor and friend, Prof. Jorge Bavaresco.
$ git checkout -b freelance/projects
As a freelancer, I started leading a development team delivering custom solutions, from architecture design all the way to production.
An integration API in Node.js and Fastify that processes automotive JSON data, converts it to XML and distributes it to multiple systems, storing documents on Cloudflare R2.
A legal process automation platform with React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and Supabase that syncs CRM workflows, spreadsheets and fee calculations through scheduled jobs.
And a React Native app integrated with Google Calendar, published on the App Store and Google Play.
$ git checkout -b job/dti-upf
Today I'm a Software Analyst at UPF's IT department (DTI), the same campus where I went to high school and where I used to walk 3 km under the sun to get to my internship.
I build corporate systems in PHP, maintain Oracle PL/SQL routines, work on integrating and modernizing the TOTVS RM ecosystem, and automate day-to-day tasks with AI and n8n.
$ git tag v2.0.0-software-architect
This month I completed my postgraduate degree in Software Architecture, also at UPF. After years of writing code, the focus now is designing systems that can grow.
$ git log --oneline
The story is still being written, one commit at a time. If you want to build the next chapter together, let's talk.
